Announcement of the introduction of the identity authentication service
"3D Secure 2.0" for credit card payments

For enhanced system security, J-STAGE will introduce the identity authentication service "3D Secure 2.0" for credit card payments when purchasing pay-per-view (PPV) articles from March 27, 2025.

What is identity authentication service “3D Secure 2.0”?
"3D Secure 2.0" is a system of identity authentication for safer credit card payments on the internet. Each card company assesses the risk of fraudulent use by the card user and, depending on the results, requires the card user to enter a one-time password or authenticate using a device, thereby increasing the security of credit card payments.

Notes
- Credit cards that do not support "3D Secure 2.0" may not be accepted.
  Please check with your credit card issuer to see if they support "3D Secure 2.0".
- Even if you have completed identity authentication, you may not be able to make a payment depending on your usage status and the judgment of your credit card issuer.
